The seventeen-year periodic cicadas of "Brood X" (say "Brood Ten") are set to emerge this summer, after being in the ground since the Iran-Contra Affair, the Mac SE, and the Harmonic Convergence. (In other words, since 1987.) But these members of genus Magicicada won't get their own domain name: it's wasted.
(Let's hope it will have lapsed by they time they return in 2021 — but it doesn't look good: it's currently registered through 2012.)
