The Great Lakes — freshwater inland seas that have served as transportation corridor as well as international frontier since well before Columbus — deserve better than this. Wasted domains are the zebra mussels of the web, parasites choking out indigenous species and blocking the free flow of pure content.
Also wasted: lakemichigan.com. The other three are more or less legitimately used.
